You can get a FREE DVD (130 minutes) about the historic and cultural significance of film. Using "To Kill a Mockingbird," it introduces students to film's narrative structure, film language and the filmmaking process. It also explore social issues relative to the era in which that film was produced. It is designed for middle school, but can be adapted.
You have to register as an educator at this site and then you may get free educational videos on a variety of subjects.
